Open the sauna
Open with the code received by SMS and email 10min before your session.
Light the fire
Take a match, a firelighter and 5 pieces of kindling from the outdoor chest (code: on the entrance door). Place the firelighter at the bottom of the stove, stack the kindling on top and light it.
Do it quickly and remember to close the sauna while lighting the fire!
Feed the fire
Once the fire is well caught, place 2 large logs in the stove. Then add 3 to 5 more logs and close the stove door properly.
Fill the water canister
Fill the water canister and the foot basin from the lake. Take water from the surface, avoiding debris and mud. Also fill the sauna's small bucket.
You can do this without getting wet from a large rock near the pont des gouilles in Martigny and from the jetty in Champex.
Change in the changing room
There are small lamps in the changing room. Remember to turn them off before entering the sauna.
In Martigny the changing room is inside the sauna. In Champex, it's 20m away in the small lakeside cabins.
The sauna is hot, come in!
The experience begins! Take one towel for inside and keep the second one for swimming. Enter barefoot and leave your shoes outside the sauna.
Adding water to the stones increases the feeling of heat. Don't add too much at first, and wait until the sauna reaches 60-70 so you don't cool it down.

Enjoy the heat
Watch the fire. You can add one or two logs if needed.
Be careful to close the stove door properly and not touch the stove. Also close the ash pan.
Cool off outside
When you're too hot, step out to cool off, and enjoy the cold lake water if you like.
Head back to the warmth
Rinse your feet in the canister before going back in and leave your sandals outside. You have time for 3 rounds of 10–15 min during your 1h30 session.
Sauna too hot? Open the door slightly. Not hot enough? Add kindling and/or clean water on the stones.
Get ready to leave
Change in the changing room. Let the fire go out without opening the stove door or adding water to it. Clean the benches with the paste provided. Empty the bucket and put it away. Sweep the changing room.
Want to spoil the next guests? Prepare the kindling and leave it in the basket provided!
Close and lock up
Close all doors. Check that the stove door is properly closed. Lock the automatic padlock again and check that the wood chest is closed.
Your unique code is valid for the whole duration of your session. You can reopen the lock if it has closed again.
Two possible situations depending on the state of the fire when you arrive.

- Take a match, a firelighter and 5 pieces of kindling from the outdoor chest
- The chest code is at the sauna entrance — lock it back up afterwards
- Place the firelighter at the bottom of the stove, stack the wood on top
- Light it all with the match
- Feed the fire well and the sauna will be hot in 25-30min.
Fire still lit
- Add wood depending on what's left in the stove
- If it struggles to restart, add a firelighter or some kindling
The sauna will heat up faster, even better!
